Learning Path Overview
The Community Engagement Learning Path features a collection of six courses and an interactive companion guidebook designed to help public media professionals strengthen their engagement efforts, no matter their skill level or area of expertise. Whether you’re looking to build a specific skill or complete the full series to reimagine your station’s community engagement strategy, this flexible resource offers practical tools you can put into action right away. Engagement is cross-functional, and every department has a role in building trust, relevance, and impact—making this learning path valuable for professionals at every level, from those just beginning to explore engagement to those refining long-standing strategies.

Nine PBS has helped shape the national conversation around public media community engagement for more than 15 years, advancing a model rooted in trusted relationships, community priorities, and measurable impact. The Nine PBS Impact team, led by Vice President and Chief Impact Officer Angie Carr, drives fundraising and execution for initiatives across early education, health, arts, economy, and civic engagement—ensuring each effort is aligned with station strategy, community needs, and clear measures of impact.
